History

After serving in the US Army, Desert Storm, Joe Priest returned to Michigan in 1992 and settled in Rochester Hills. He obtained his Builder’s License and in 1994 Joe started Priest Construction doing various general construction projects.  Soon it evolved into a company specializing in providing roofing services.  Priest Construction gained momentum over the next few years, but its real growth began in 2001 when, as Joe says, “I chose sobriety. God’s hand has clearly been on my life; I attribute my freedom from alcohol to Him.”

In 2009, Joe became involved with Faith Works, a non-profit whose mission is to provide necessary home repair  and improvements  to needy people in the area.  It is with Faith Works that Joe found a way to give back.  As Joe put it, “I have always felt that being the hands and feet of Jesus was my way of honoring God and showing gratitude for the miracle he worked in me”.  In 2010, Priest Construction was part of the Faith Works team that helped a new organization, Life Remodeled, build a home in 6 days for a needy family in Westland.

Today, Priest Construction is a successful roofing company credited with completing over 1500  projects since 1992 including such notable buildings as Avon Player’s, Brookwood Golf Clubhouse and the historic barn at Rochester University.   Priest Construction has also been recognized in Roofing Contractor Magazine in 2016 and featured in their September 2019 edition for his contributions to Life Remodeled and the Detroit Neighborhood Improvement Project.

Priest Construction, with Joe's leadership, continues to be actively involved in Faith Works, as well as Life Remodeled, helping those in need in the Oakland, Macomb and Wayne County areas.  “My crews are also active participants in giving back each year in the week long Detroit Neighborhood Improvement Project through Life Remodeled", says Joe, and “My hope is to inspire my workers to have a heart for helping others”.
